The challenge
Tattoo artists work from reference constantly, and most of what they find online is legally murky. InkGenX had to solve that with a genuinely royalty-free library, then go further and let artists generate and manipulate reference on demand.
Generic AI image tools do not understand tattoo work — line weight, placement, style lineage, the difference between a flash sheet and a stencil reference. The product had to be built for this trade specifically, and it had to be worth a subscription.
Library first, AI second
The foundation is a royalty-free reference library that artists can browse and use without licensing anxiety. That is the part that earns daily use.
We structured it for how artists actually search — by style and subject — so the library is a working tool rather than an archive.
The InkGenX+ AI suite
On top of the library sits InkGenX+, the paid AI tier. We integrated multiple AI image models rather than one, because different models are better at different things, and a tattoo-specific product needs whichever one produces usable reference for the request in front of it.
The suite covers both generation and manipulation, so an artist can create a starting point or rework an existing one inside the same tool.
A subscription product on Bubble.io
The whole platform is a Bubble.io build: accounts, library, generation workflows, model integrations and the InkGenX+ subscription tier.
Building it this way let the AI feature set expand as models improved, without re-architecting the product each time.
The outcome
InkGenX is live as a niche-vertical SaaS with a free-to-browse reference library and a paid AI suite built specifically for tattoo work.
It is our proof that a serious AI product can be shipped for a specialist trade audience on a no-code stack — and it completes the AI trio with Tylo AI and Mocki.
